Parish Council Play Areas

16th of October, 2025

As stated in the last newsletter, all of the Parish Council owned play areas in the village are going to be updated.

Springfield Leisure Park - small children's play area - this will have all new equipment, except for the mound slides which will be refurbished, and a new safety surface.  At the present time, the Parish Council has contacted three play area companies who will assess the site and will be preparing designs.  These take approximately six weeks and then the designs will go out for consultation.  The new play area will have inclusive equipment and will be fully accessible.  Keep a look out on the notice boards and social media for when this happens.

Tansley Avenue play area - a recent ROSPA report has stated that this equipment is ok, but a new piece of equipment will be put in to replace the seesaw which had to be removed.  The old equipment will be painted and any small defects made good.  It will then have a complete new safety surface.

Byron Crescent - this site is still being assessed.  The large climbing unit will have to be removed and, although the other equipment did not need removing, it is thought that all the equipment will be changed.

Please bear with us whilst all this work is being planned.  It takes time for the sites to be assessed, the plans to be drawn up, consultation to take place and then the order placed.  All three sites will include some inclusive equipment and will be fully accessible.
